Belait District Malay: Daerah Belait, or just Belait, is the biggest and in addition the westernmost locale in Brunei. The word 'Belait' is taken from the name of the local tenants of Belait, the Belait People. The area is managed from the town of Kuala Belait, its capital. Flammable gas from the fields are sent to the Brunei Liquefied Natural Gas Plant BLNG in Lumut where it is cooled and condensed. This is sent out by means of tankers to principally Japan and Korea.
