In the end days of World War I battling separated because of Russian Civil War. Four gatherings battled for control of the region when the Russian Empire fallen. Battling each other were the Bolsheviks, Mensheviks, Armenians and Azeris. Numerous individuals were slaughtered in the battling including men from a little British power sent to anticipate Baku falling under the control of the Ottomans or the Germans.

Saints' Lane, Alley of Martyrs or ??hidl?r Xiyaban? transliterated to Shehidler Khiyabani, in the past The Kirov Park, is a graveyard and commemoration in Baku, Azerbaijan devoted to those slaughtered by the Soviet Army amid Black January and later to those murdered in Nagorno-Karabakh War.
