About Rocklea
Rocklea is a massive suburb of Brisbane, the kingdom capital of Queensland, Australia. The suburb is located 9 kilometres south of the town. The west of the suburb is bordered by using the Oxley Creek. The suburb's name is derived from the Rocky Waterholes inside the place. It is also at one stop of the Ipswich Motorway and has a teach station on the Beenleigh line. Ipswich Road continues north from the Ipswich Motorway, thru Moorooka and into the Brisbane principal enterprise district.
Rocklea is a broadly speaking business suburb, being the home to many huge firms from a selection industries. The suburb has a school, Rocklea State School, which was opened in 1885. At the 2011 Australian Census Rocklea had a population of 1,255. The locality became at the start known as Rocky Water Holes. It become renamed Rocklea with the hole of the railway.
In January 1925 work commenced at the Sydney–Brisbane rail corridor. The suburbs changed into once the centre of the Shire of Yeerongpilly which was mounted in 1879 and disbanded in 1925 after the City of Brisbane became created. In 1949, Commonwealth Engineering mounted a railway manufacturing facility in Rocklea. On 31 July 2009 the final race became held at the Rocklea horse harness racing song.
