About Las Delicias Zoo

The Las Delicias Zoo Also Zoological Park of Las Delicias Is a urban zoological garden situated at 400 meters above ocean level in the northern end of the city of Maracay, Aragua State in Venezuela with local species from the Cordillera area and whatever is left of Venezuela. The zoo works under Declaration No. 655 distributed in Official Gazette No. 32007 of June 17, 1980. The Ministry of the Environment keeps up the parsonage of the Maracay Zoo and the Aragua State Government accepts some managerial accountability to help the projects that are created in the recreation center.

The zoo is a recorded continuation of a hacienda in the eastern slant of Cola de Caballo Mountains. The zoo of Maracay opened without precedent for 1915 at the activity of General Juan Vicente Gomez as a corral with an individual presentation of numerous creatures displayed at Las Delicias hacienda, claimed by the president. At that point, local creatures, for example, chigüire, Water, corocoras, gabanes, garzones warriors and crocodiles.

In 1928 the gathering was enhanced with examples asked for from the Hamburg Zoo and different places, for example, Bengal, Elephant, Giraffe, Orangutan, Chimpanzee and African Lions. Gomez kicked the bucket in his home inside the zoo grounds in December of 1935. The zoo was formally introduced in 1952 by the then leader of Venezuela Marcos Perez Jimenez.
