Fargona

Fergana or Ferghana, is the capital of Fergana Region in jap Uzbekistan. Fergana is about 420 km east of Tashkent, about 75 km west of Andijan, and less than 20 km from the Kyrgyzstan border.While the area has been populated for heaps of years, the modern metropolis was founded in 1876. The fertile Fergana Valley was an important conduit at the Silk Roads,which connected the historical Chinese capital of Xi'an to the west over the Wushao Ling Mountain Pass to Wuwei and rising in Kashgar before linking to historical Parthia, or on to the north of the Aral and Caspian Seas to ports on the Black Sea.

It was once known as ferghana, for the duration of the Kushan empire. The historical state called Dayuan in the Chinese chronicles is now generally general as being within the Ferghana Valley.
