Wyeth Tootle Mansion
About Wyeth Tootle Mansion
St. Joseph is known for a broad accumulation of lovely manors worked when the new century rolled over, and the Wyeth Tootle Mansion at the side of Eleventh and Charles Streets is a prime illustration. With three stories, a pinnacle and in excess of 40 rooms, it stands today as a standout amongst other cases of St. Joseph's late nineteenth century riches and extravagance, highlighting staggering woodwork, hand-painted roofs and imported recolored glass. In 1879, William and Eliza Wyeth procured planner E. J. Eckel to plan a manor looking like the palaces they had seen on the Rhine River as they were going in Germany. This 43-room Gothic style chateau joins a case of the homes of early unmistakable St. Joseph inhabitants with shows on the historical backdrop of St. Joseph.
