Woodland Park Zoo

It is a zoological garden situated in the Phinney Ridg. Possessing the western portion of Woodland Park, the zoo started as a little zoo on the home of Guy C. Phinney, a Canadian-conceived blunder process proprietor and land designer.Phinney's other significant sold the 188-section of land 76 ha Woodland Park to the city for $5,000 in real money and the presumption of a $95,000 contract. The aggregate was large to the point that the Seattle chairman W. D. Wood vetoed the obtaining, just to be later overruled by the city board. The Olmsted Brothers firm was procured to outline the city's parks, including Woodland Park, and the following year the accumulation of the private Leschi Park zoological garden was moved to Phinney Ridge.
