About Windsor Ruins
The remains comprise of 23 standing Corinthian sections of the biggest before the war Greek Revival house at any point worked in the state. Windsor Ruins are in Claiborne County in the U.S. province of Mississippi, around 10 miles 16 km southwest of Port Gibson close Alcorn State University. The house remained from 1861 to 1890, when it was demolished by flame. The 2.1-section of land 0.85 ha site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 and was assigned a Mississippi Landmark in 1985.
Windsor chateau was situated on a ranch that secured 2,600 sections of land 1,100 ha. The chateau was built in the vicinity of 1859 and 1861 for Smith Coffee Daniell II, who was conceived in Mississippi and had procured incredible riches as a cotton grower by age 30. In 1849, Smith Daniell wedded his cousin Catherine Freeland 1830– 1903. The couple had six youngsters, with three getting by to adulthood.
