Watts Station
About Watts Station
Watts Station is a prepare station worked in 1904 in Watts, Los Angeles, California. It was one of the main structures in Watts, and for a long time, it was a noteworthy stop for the Pacific Electric Railway's "Red Car" benefit between Los Angeles and Long Beach. It was the main structure that stayed in place when stores along 103rd Street in Watts were singed in the 1965 Watts Riots.
Staying untouched amidst the extend of road that came to be known as "Charcoal Alley", the station turned into an image of congruity, expectation, and recharging for the Watts people group. It has since been pronounced a Historic-Cultural Monument and is recorded on the National Register of Historic Places.
