V & E Simonetti Historic Tuba Collection
About V & E Simonetti Historic Tuba Collection
Vincent Simonetti started his tuba accumulation when he was visiting with the Moyseev Ballet Company as their inhabitant tubist. While in Boston, he went over a 1910 Cerveny helicon and knew he couldn't abandon it behind. In the 50 odd years since, Vincent and his better half Ethel have kept gathering tubas. In spring of 2016, the Simonettis put their accumulation of almost 300 horns in plain view for general society to find in a little yellow North Carolina house. The exhibition hall includes a scope of instruments in the tuba family. There are saxhorns, ophicleides, euphoniums, sousaphones, and obviously, tubas. Heaps of tubas, every one of a kind. The exhibition hall tracks the historical backdrop of the tuba, from its innovation around 1830 as far as possible up to the present day.
