About USS Slater
USS Slater is a destroyer escort historical museum in Albany. Propelled in 1944, the ship served in the U.S. Naval force and afterward in the Greek Navy. It is a gun class destroyer escort dispatch named after Frank O. Slater, a mariner slaughtered amid the Naval Battle of Guadalcanal.
The ship is the just a single of its kind still above water and it was assigned as a U.S. National Historic Landmark. After its utilization by the Greek Navy, it was come back to the U.S. in 1993. After real rebuilding, the ship touched base in Albany in 1997. There are one hour guided voyages through the exhibition hall and also youth gather overnight camps.
