About The Maridon Museum
The Maridon Museum centers around Chinese and Japanese workmanship and culture. Situated in Butler, the gallery's gathering, included jade and ivory figures, woven artworks, canvases of scenes, scrolls, 300 Meissen porcelain pieces and that's just the beginning, was the accumulation of Mary Hulton Phillips who additionally gave the building.
The Maridon opened on May eighth, 2004. It is the main historical center in the Western Pennsylvania district with a particular spotlight on Asian Art and Culture combined with German Meissen porcelain. The historical center — both the articles and the structures that house them — is the endowment of Mary Hulton Phillips. Patricia Lowry, writing in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, articulated the Maridon a "glimmering little diamond of a gallery.
