About The Franciscan Church: St. Jerome

The mid seventeenth century Roman Catholic Franciscan Church Franziskanerkirche, otherwise called the Church of St. Jerome, is one of a kind in Vienna for having a Renaissance façade, while its delightful inside is enlivened in Baroque style. Features incorporate the High Altar from 1707 and a work of art of the Madonna and Child from 1550. Different depictions are the Martyrdom of St. Capristan and one of the congregation's supporter holy person. Additionally of intrigue is the cut Baroque organ from 1643, the most seasoned organ in Vienna, prominent for its collapsing entryways with their fine cut and painted holy people. The congregation's most well known ancient rarity, in any case, is a cut picture known as the Madonna with the Ax, known for having been conveyed by Austrian fighters amid their battle against the Turks in Hungary, and credited for their triumph.
