About The Downtown Woodland Historic District
The Downtown Woodland Historic District is situated at the Main St. from Elm St. to Third St., Woodland, California, USA. The district dates back to the early history of Woodland.
When the county seat of Yolo country moved to Woodland in 1860, so did people. Schools, stores, and a post office were built. By 1869, the California Pacific Railroad Company constructed a line between Davisville now Davis and Marysville.
This brought more people to the city. Main Street is now filled with businesses. There are some historic buildings on the street IOOF hall, Opera house etc.
