The Burnside plantation
About The Burnside plantation
The Burnside Plantation is a 6.5-section of land estate in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and was recorded on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is otherwise called the James Burnside Plantation and Lerch Farm. The estate is found 0.2 miles southeast of the convergence with Eaton Road, on Schoeners ville Road.It remained in the Lerch family until 1928, when it sold and was separated between the Hafleighs and the Birks. Lehigh County purchased the manor in 1986 and rented it into a private enterprise "to reestablish, create, and oversee it as a living and normal history asset". It was recorded on the National Register of Historic Places on May 2, 1990. The gallery is a member inside the Smithsonian Affiliations program.
