The Bethlehem Waterworks
About The Bethlehem Waterworks
The Bethlehem Waterworks, otherwise called the Old Waterworks or 1762 Waterworks, are accepted to be the most established pump-fueled open water supply in what is currently the United States. The pumphouse, which incorporates unique and reproduction gear, is situated in the Colonial Industrial Quarter of downtown Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, between Monocacy Creek and Main Street. It was pronounced a National Historic Landmark in 1998.
There are entryways on three sides, one of which is at a higher height inferable from the slanting territory; it gives access to a capacity zone on the upper level, while the other two give access to the instruments within. The hardware incorporates a copy waterwheel, imitated from the first determinations, which were safeguarded.
