Strawberry Mountain Wilderness is well known among locals and visitors for its amazing collection of flora and fauna, it is a wild region of the Strawberry Mountain Range, inside Malheur National Forest in the Blue Mountains of east Oregon. Strawberry Mountain Wilderness is home to no less than 378 sorts of creatures and 22 types of fish. It is also famous for its wild life, visitors can see animals on these Rocky Mountain like elk, donkey deer, eland, wild bear, cougar, bighorn sheep, ruffed and blue grouse, pleated woodpecker, sharp-shinned peddle bald eagle, pine marten, mink, and beaver.
The region involves 69,350 sections of land, including mountain tops and a few lakes, and contains in excess of 125 miles of climbing trails. Strawberry Mountain was assigned wild under the Wilderness Act of 1964, and in 1984 dramatically increased in measure with the section of the Oregon Wilderness Act. It is overseen by the United States Forest Service.
