Split Rock Lighthouse
About Split Rock Lighthouse
The pleasant Split Rock Lighthouse is a beacon situated on the northern shore of Lake Superior, close Silver Bay. The beacon has been re-established to look as it did in 1920 and is a National Historic Landmark. Guests to the property can visit the four structures nearby and climb the beacon.
The manager's house is staffed by guides in period-proper ensembles who indicate what life resembled for light attendants and their families amid the mid twentieth century. The beacon itself is the centerpiece of Split Rock Lighthouse State Park, which brags a cookout zone, tent outdoors and 14 miles of climbing and multi-utilize trails.
