Southernmost Point Buoy

The Southernmost Point Buoy is a tied down solid float in Key West, Florida, denoting the southernmost point in the mainland United States. It is 18 feet above ocean level. The substantial painted float was set up as a vacation spot in 1983 by the city at the side of South Street and Whitehead Street. It is a standout amongst the most went to and shot attractions in the United States.

The southernmost point was initially set apart with a little sign, before the City of Key West raised the now renowned solid float. The solid float has general withstood a few storms and is a social occasion put for photos and travelers. The paint work was harmed by Hurricane Irma in September 2017, however it was restored soon thereafter by the first craftsman upheld by the City of Key West which esteems the milestone as a traveler attraction. Cuba is approximately 90 miles south of this point in Key West, in spite of the fact that this was not initially on the marker, but instead on a littler sign beside marker. The float is kept up by the Key West Public Works Department and it was devoted on September 10, 1983. The painted solid float is 12 feet tall and 7 feet wide.
