Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum
About Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum
Established in 1966, the Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum highlights memorabilia identified with eighteenth and nineteenth century dispatches that were shown in the 1819 William Scarbrough House and Gardens. The foundation was in the Greek revival style of design, and the home had a place with one of the proprietors of the "Savannah," the main steamship to cross the Atlantic Ocean.
The garden is one of the biggest in the Historic District, and it is loaded with brilliant, shocking flowerbeds. Inside the house, the principle fascination is the accumulation of ship models, antiques, and ship-related artistic creations. There are nine exhibitions that show different sorts of boats from old frontier cruising vessels to present day naval force ships. The historical center is open each day aside from Mondays.
