About Senate House State Historic Site
The Senate House State Historic Site denotes where New York State was set up in 1777 amid the Revolutionary War. Situated in the Stockade Historic District at the edge of North Front Street and Clinton Avenue on Fair Street, the Senate House State Historic Site was worked in 1676 when the British took control of New York from the Dutch. It is a great case of early Dutch and English development styles and highlights stone and block laid in Flemish Bond. The house was deserted when the Senate fled the British troops amid the war and later consumed in reprisal. Nonetheless, it was reestablished to its previous grandness and has since filled in as a historical center for people in general to appreciate.
