About Rockingham
Rockingham is accepted to be the second most seasoned house in the Millstone River Valley, its unique rooms worked around 1710. The house was initially a two-story, two-room outline house with a one and one-half story shelter at its back, arranged high on a rough slope over the waterway. The house and around 100 sections of land were obtained by 1735 by John Berrien, who later filled in as Somerset County Judge, Trustee for the College of New Jersey introduce day Princeton University, New Jersey Supreme Court Justice and Colony Assemblyman. He significantly expanded the house for his developing family in the 1760s and added arrive step by step to add up to more than 360 sections of land, making it a considerable homestead proper for a prosperous, entrenched man.
