Riverside Park

Riverside Park is recognized internationally as an important habitat for wildlife such as salmon, water voles, kingfishers, dragonflies, and otters a 32-hectare site located along the River Itchen and includes six football pitches, two cricket pitches, a tennis court, Skate Park and three play areas.

You can also take a relaxed walk along the River Itchen a chalk river designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The non-tidal section of the river supports a iety of freshwater fish, including dace, roach and the migratory salmon and sea trout.

Proceeding with the stream gives charming and delightful perspectives onto the preservation zones on the opposite side where surprising species make their home including kingfisher, water vole, otter, different larks and once in a while even cuckoo.
