About Red Top Mountain State Park
Red Top Mountain State Park is a state stop in the U.S. province of Georgia. It is situated in the northwestern piece of the state, on the northwestern edge of metro Atlanta, in southeastern Bartow County close Cartersville. Named for press rich Red Top Mountain, the recreation center spreads 1,776 sections of land 6.32 km² on a promontory bulging north into Lake Allatoona, shaped on the recreation center's north and east sides by the Etowah River arm and on the west by Allatoona Creek arm.
During the 1864 Atlanta Campaign of the American Civil War, the Battle of Allatoona Pass was battled on a front line close to the recreation center. The clash of Allatoona Pass National Historical Registry Marker is crosswise over Lake Allatoona on the south side, off Allatoona Road, or the Emerson exit off Interstate 75. The recreation center's principle notoriety, however, originates from being close Atlanta, and simply off Interstate 75.
It is a standout amongst the most-went by parks in the state. An advanced hotel was developed in 1985, however, shut, alongside the eatery and gathering rooms, June 30, 2010, because of statewide spending cuts.
