Presidio San Agustin del Tucson
About Presidio San Agustin del Tucson
Presidio San Agustin del Tucson is the most established European ancient rarity in old Tucson not to be mistaken for Old Tucson, as you may already know. Roosted on the banks of the once-exuberant Santa Cruz River, it's an incomplete reproduction of a 11-section of land Spanish fortress initially worked before the opening shots of the U.S. Progressive War were let go on the opposite side of the mainland. The fortification dislodged a far more established settlement: the 2,000-year-old town of Chuk-child, whence Tucson took its name. All that "remaining parts" of Chuk-child is a reproduction pit house. The stronghold itself held up better – on the guided visit, you'll see nourishment stores, officers' quarters, sleeping enclosure, military gear, and other cool stuff.
