Point Mugu State Park, situated in the Santa Monica Mountains, highlights five miles of sea shoreline, with rough feigns, sandy shorelines, sand ridges, tough slopes and uplands, two noteworthy waterway gullies and wide lush valleys spotted with sycamores, oaks and a couple of local walnuts. There are in excess of 70 miles of climbing trails.

Spine Trail's Northern end is at the Ray Miller Trailhead, found only south of Point Mugu, in La Jolla Canyon.
