Pier 57 is recorded on the State and National Registers of Historic Places. It was worked in 1952 and is viewed as noteworthy on account of its inventive building plan by Emil Praeger, who additionally outlined gliding wharfs for Allied arrivals in World War II. Wharf 57 is upheld by three light, empty cement boxes. These 27,000-ton areas were worked in Haverstraw, NY.
