This wonderful stop includes some of Springfield's most glorious trees, and in addition play areas, notable excursion structure, restrooms, park tables and barbecues, horseshoes, water fountain and a 7/10 mile cleared strolling trail. Adjacent is the McGee-McGregor Wading Pool. One of Springfield's noteworthy parks, Phelps Grove was worked in 1914 ashore already cultivated by John and Mary Phelps, one of Springfield's establishing families.
South of the Springfield Art Museum, the recreation center proceeds with the Perry Tennis Courts and the Waterwise Xeriscape Garden. Alligators in the city zoo at Phelps Grove Park before the zoo was moved to Dickerson Park. The waterfall created at the west end of the lake.
