About Partridge
Partridge is a city in Reno County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 statistics, the city populace was 248. Partridge was laid out in 1886. It was fused as a city in 1906.Its name honors the partridge. In 1887, the Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway constructed a principle line from Herington through Partridge to Pratt. In 1888, this line was reached out to Liberal. Afterward, it was reached out to Tucumcari, New Mexico and El Paso, Texas.
It was abandoned in 1891 and assumed control by Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway, which close down in 1980; it was redesigned as Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas Railroad, converged in 1988 with Missouri Pacific Railroad, and combined again in 1997 with Union Pacific Railroad. Most local people still allude to this railroad as the "Stone Island".
