Outer Banks
About Outer Banks
It is a 200-mile-long 320 km string of obstruction islands and spits off the shore of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia, on the east shoreline of the United States. They cover the greater part of the North Carolina coastline, isolating the Currituck Sound, Albemarle Sound, and Pamlico Sound from the Atlantic Ocean.
The Outer Banks are a noteworthy visitor goal and are known the world over for their subtropical atmosphere and wide spread of open beachfront. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore has four campgrounds open to guests. The deceptive oceans off the Outer Banks and the extensive number of wrecks that have happened there have given these oceans the moniker Graveyard of the Atlantic. The Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum is situated in Hatteras Village close to a United States Coast Guard office and the Hatteras ship.
