Old Man of the Mountain
About Old Man of the Mountain
The Old Man of the Mountain, otherwise called the Great Stone Face or the Profile was a progression of five rock bluff edges on Cannon Mountain in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, United States, that gave off an impression of being the spiked profile of a face when seen from the north. The principal recorded specify of the Old Man was in 1805. It crumbled on May 3, 2003. Franconia Notch is a U-formed valley that was molded by ice sheets. The Old Man arrangement was likely framed from solidifying and defrosting of water in splits of the rock bedrock at some point after the withdraw of ice sheets 12,000 years back.
