Milwaukee Art Museum
About Milwaukee Art Museum
Established in 1888, the astounding Milwaukee Art Museum is home to in excess of 20,000 show-stoppers from ancient times to the present day. The lakeside building itself is a show-stopper and takes after a cross between a smooth ship and an air ship, with a tall, retractable structure looking like wings roosted on its rooftop. Features are its numerous European, American, current, and contemporary works including fine prints, illustrations, and photos, and Asian and African accumulations. Other city displays of note are the Charles Allis Art Museum, with American and European workmanship from the nineteenth and twentieth hundreds of years, housed in a rich Tudor-style manor worked in 1911; the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum, worked in 1923 in the style of an Italian Renaissance estate with brightening expressions from the fifteenth through the eighteenth hundreds of years; and the Haggerty Museum of Art with an accumulation of in excess of 2,000 pieces, including numerous Old Masters.
