Millennium Park
About Millennium Park
Millennium Park is the biggest urban park in West Michigan, situated on the southwest side of Grand Rapids. Millennium Park associates four of the real urban communities in the territory together, including Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Grandville, and Walker. Whenever finished, the recreation center will be twice as substantial as New York City's Central Park, at roughly 1,500 sections of land 6 km². The undertaking started in 1998 when the Parks Department chief Roger Sabine started making arrangements for a development of Johnson Park. Sabine extended the Johnson Park venture into the 1,500 section of land 6 km² park venture.
The task was at long last submitted to the Secchia Millennium Commission SMC soon thereafter and later endorsed the undertaking by which the Kent County Board of Commissioners named the recreation center Millennium Park. The park praised its fantastic opening in July 2004. The park is based on the previous area of gypsum mines and rock pits, including the previous area of the Domtar mine.
