Meadowlands Museum
About Meadowlands Museum
The Meadowlands Museum is a museum situated in Rutherford, New Jersey. It was set up in 1961 as a vault for antiquities identifying with the historical backdrop of Rutherford and the New Jersey Meadowlands area. The principal area for the exhibition hall was a room at Rutherford's Sylvan School, and the accumulation was known as the Sylvan School Museum and open to understudies in the Rutherford state funded schools. In the late 1960s, the school area required the classroom space by and by, and the historical center migrated to a place of business on Ames Avenue and called itself the Rutherford Museum.
The museum’s essential mission is to translate the area's history through instructive projects and shows of things identifying with that history. Starting at 2005, the historical center has four perpetual displays: an antique toy room highlighting things from the nineteenth and mid twentieth century; a show of neighborhood rocks and minerals, including fluorescent minerals; a pre-electric kitchen, intended to take after a kitchen of the mid twentieth century; and the "hand crafted" room, highlighting right on time to mid-nineteenth century things, for example, turning wheels, dishes, and garments. With regards to the exhibition hall's unique idea, field excursions to the historical center are normal among region school kids.
