The Lake-Peterson House is a historical house which was built in 1873; the Lake-Peterson House is a standout amongst the most vital homes in Rockford. This two-story structure is viewed as outstanding amongst other cases of Victorian Gothic Revival-style design in the province of Illinois. It is recorded as an Illinois State Historic Site and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The Lake-Peterson House is claimed by the Swedish American Hospital in Rockford and was protected by the Jenny Lind Society in 1973.
