Lake Pend Oreille in the northern Idaho Panhandle is the biggest lake in the U.S. province of Idaho and the 38th-biggest lake by region in the United States, with a surface region of 148 square miles 380 km2. It is 43 miles 69 km long, and 1,150 feet 350 m somewhere down in a few areas, making it the fifth-most profound in the country. It is bolstered by the Clark Fork River and the Pack River, and channels by means of the Pend Oreille River.
It is encompassed by national woodlands and a couple of residential communities, with the biggest populace on the lake at Sandpoint. Most of the shoreline is non-populated and everything except the southern tip of the lake is in Bonner County.
