La Crosse River Trail
About La Crosse River Trail
It has been created from deserted Chicago and Northwestern Railroad amongst Sparta and La Crosse. Prairie remainders, farmlands, trout streams, hardwood woodlands and wetlands are found along the trail. Pressed limestone screenings give a smooth riding surface. The scaffolds have planked floors and railings set up for rider’s wellbeing. Another extension 1998 at Medary crosses a dynamic rail line running parallel to the trail.
This extension associates the La Crosse River State Trail to the Great River State Trail. It is one of four interfacing bicycle trails in west-focal Wisconsin that traverses roughly 33% of the state. The trail is known for the provincial view and territory of the Coulee Region. It is a piece of the bigger Wisconsin bicycle trail framework, worked by the province of Wisconsin.
