About Knoxville Museum of Art
The Knoxville Museum of Art KMA, situated at 1050 World's Fair Park in Knoxville, Tennessee, introduces the rich visual inheritance of East Tennessee and new workmanship from the district and past. As indicated by its statement of purpose, the historical center "praises the workmanship and craftsmen of East Tennessee, displays new craftsmanship and new thoughts, teaches and serves an assorted network, improves Knoxville's personal satisfaction, and works morally, dependably, and straightforwardly as an open trust."
The exhibition hall opened in 1961 as the Dulin Gallery of Art, which was housed in the H.L. Dulin House on Kingston Pike. The Dulin House was planned in 1915 by conspicuous engineer John Russell Pope in the Neoclassical Revival style. The house had constrained space, in any case, and the absence of security and atmosphere control kept the historical center's accreditation by the American Association of Museums. In 1984, the Board of Trustees voted to fabricate another best in class office at the site of 1982 World's Fair in downtown Knoxville. The name was changed to "Knoxville Museum of Art" in 1987. The new 53,200-square-foot 4,940 m2 office, outlined by noted modeler Edward Larrabee Barnes, opened on March 25, 1990. You can come here and experience this place.
