Kam Wah Chung & Co. Museum
About Kam Wah Chung & Co. Museum
The Kam Wah Chung is a National Historic Landmark that jam early Chinese culture in John Day in the U.S. province of Oregon. Worked in the 1870s, potentially as an exchanging post, it is the best-protected case of a Chinese home grown pharmacist and trade foundation dating to the post-Civil War time of development in the American West.
Today the Kam Wah Chung and Co. Historical center contains a standout amongst the broadest accumulations of materials from the century-long deluge of Chinese outsiders in the American West. It was recorded on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 and assigned a National Historic Landmark by the Secretary of the Interior in 2005.
