The Institute of Contemporary Art is a workmanship gallery and display space situated in Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America. The gallery was established as the Boston Museum of Modern Art in 1936 with a mission to show contemporary craftsmanship. From that point forward it has experienced numerous name changes and in addition moving its displays and bolster spaces more than 13 times.
The Institute of Contemporary Art was established as the Boston Museum of Modern Art in 1936 with workplaces leased at 114 State Street with display space gave by the Fogg Museum and the Busch– Reisinger Museum at Hard University. The Museum arranged itself as "a maverick posterity of the Museum of Modern Art", and was driven by its first president, a 26-year-old draftsman named Nathaniel Saltonstall.
