About Holly Recreation Area
Holly State Recreation Area is a state diversion zone in Groveland Township, close Holly, Michigan. Covering 7,817 sections of land 3,163 ha of rolling woodland and open fields, the recreation center zone is divided by Dixie Highway and Interstate 75, with a larger part of park feature toward the east, and the Holdbridge Lakes Mountain Bike Area toward the west, including the Gruber's Grinder trail. Highlights incorporate a 18-opening plate fairway, 35 miles 56 km of climbing and mountain biking trails, a model plane flying field, open doors for swimming, angling, drifting, and chasing. Winter exercises incorporate crosscountry skiing and snowmobiling.
Camping is accommodated at 160 campgrounds and 3 natural lodges, one of which is the Rolston Cabin. There is a prepared shoreline with park tables, a lunch room, and watercraft rentals on Heron Lake. The recreation center zone likewise encompasses McGinnis Lake, Valley Lake, and Wildwood Lake. The area is managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
