Hewitt is a city in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The populace was 13,368 at the 2010 registration. It is a piece of the Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area. The people group of Hewitt was set up following the gift of land by John A. Warren, the town's first specialist, in the 1880s. Warren bought the around 40 sections of land 16 ha and the town site was named Hewitt in 1883 for George A. Hewitt, a representative of the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad.
