Harris-Lass House Museum
About Harris-Lass House Museum
The Harris - Lass House Museum is situated at 1889 Market Street in Santa Clara, California. It is the last ranch site in the city of Santa Clara and is named for the two families who claimed and lived on the property for a long time. The exhibition hall comprises of the house, an exemplary California animal dwellingplace, summer kitchen, tank house and finished greenhouses. The house was worked in 1865 in the Italianate style — adjusted and symmetrical.
In the 1890's it was widely extended and redesigned, changing the symmetry of the first plan. It is completely outfitted, the vast majority of the furniture and substance having had a place with the Lass family. Albeit claimed by the City, the site is worked by the Historic Preservation Society of Santa Clara, a non-benefit open advantage organization, and staffed altogether by volunteers.
