Situated on Forest Street, the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center is a notable exhibition hall and also a U.S. National Landmark. Creator of the 1852 novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, Harriet Beecher Stowe lived in this house from 1873 until her demise in 1896. The 5,000 square foot two-story block house was worked in the cabin style, painted dim, and designed with dormers and peaks.
It sits neighboring the Mark Twain House. The middle contains unique items from the family and also a few records and letters. The inside additionally has an exploration library and a carriage house that fills in as the Visitor Center. Recorded on the U.S. National Register of History Places, the middle is open each day.
