About Gordon
It is a city in Palo Pinto County, Texas TX. The populace was 478 at the 2010 Census. Gordon's history starts in 1864 with the establishing of the group of Hampton, Texas. The town of Gordon was arranged by the Texas and Pacific Railway one mile south of Hampton in 1874. The new town was named Gordon after the structural specialist in charge of looking over the townsite arrive.
The railroad was worked through the territory in 1880, and the next year Hampton was moved to meet the railroad. The principal classes at the Gordon School were held in 1882, and the mail station opened on October 17, 1883 with neighborhood representative Robert Rogan filling in as the group's first postmaster.
