About Golden Plough Tavern
The Golden Plow Tavern, worked in 1741, is the second of the two noteworthy reclamations in the core of downtown York. It is arranged at its unique area — part 120 in the arrangement of York as studied and laid out by Thomas Cookson in 1741. Manufactured initially as a bar, it contains a significant part of the first development which is illustrative of a sort nearly non-existent today.
A way to the bar was made in the General Gates House when it was initially manufactured, while an entryway was compromised of the outside mass of the Golden Plow Tavern to access the General Gates House. The Golden Plow Tavern was most likely keep running as a beneficial business while its proprietor lived adjacent and the kitchen of the bar served to maintain the life and exercises of the two structures.
