About Fort Walla Walla
The key Fort Walla was set up July 1856, by Lieutenant Colonel Edward Steptoe, ninth Infantry Regiment. A minute Fort Walla was had September 23, 1856. The third and enduring military Fort Walla was worked in 1858 and adjoined Steptoeville, now Walla, Washington, a gathering that had grown up around the second stronghold.
An Executive Order on May 7, 1859 articulated the post a military reservation containing 640 segments of land focused on military purposes and a further 640 segments of land each one of roughage and timber reserves. On September 28, 1910 warriors from the main Cavalry cut down the standard closing the stronghold. In 1917, the stronghold immediately resuscitated to get ready men of the First Battalion Washington Field Artillery in help of movement in World War I.
