Fire House 1 Museum
About Fire House 1 Museum
The Nevada County Historical Society set up this same working as its first exhibition hall, the Firehouse No. 1, in 1947. The historical center has been staffed by volunteers and upheld by guest gifts from that point onward. The Firehouse No. 1 exhibition hall has four fundamental presentations of Nevada County history dating from the late nineteenth to mid twentieth century.
Finished in the Spring of 1861, this firehouse was home to Nevada Hose Company No.1 from 1861 to 1938. Amid those almost 80 years, horse - drawn fire wagons, pushcarts and "present day " mechanized fire motors revealed the doors. The first show experienced when strolling through the historical center entryways is that of the Nisenan Indians of the Nevada City Rancheria. The Nisenan have occupied Nevada County for a large number of years.
