About Fairfax Stone Historical Monument State Park
The Fairfax Stone denotes the western limit of land allowed to Lord Fairfax by the King of England in the 1700s. After two centuries, the stone was utilized to decide the limit between West Virginia and Maryland. Throughout the years, the stone has been changed out for different reasons. The current Fairfax Stone, the fifth, was devoted as a state noteworthy landmark and turned out to be a piece of the West Virginia State Park framework in 1957 when the Western Maryland Railroad gave four sections of land of land encompassing the stone to the state.
