Emerald Necklace
About Emerald Necklace
It comprises a 1,100-acre chain of parks connected by expressways and conduits in Boston and Brookline, Massachusetts.
The emerald neck gets its name from the way the arranged anchor seems to swing from the "neck" of the Boston promontory, right up till the present time it isn't completely developed.
It was assigned as Boston Landmark by the Boston Landmarks Commission in 1989.
The Necklace includes half of the City of Boston's stop grounds, parkland in the Town of Brookline, and expressways and park edges under the locale of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
More than 300,000 individuals live in its watershed region. From Boston Common to Franklin Park it is roughly seven miles by foot or bike through the parks.
